After severe weather led to the UCF Women’s Soccer team’s regular season opener against Florida Gulf Coast being postponed, you knew it was going to be a tough road for the Knights taking on Top-25 ranked Texas A&M and University of North Carolina on the road in Carolina.
Final results: #23 Texas beats the Knights 2-1 in overtime and then two days later UCF loses to #3 North Carolina 1-0.
Afterward Knights’ Head Coach Tiffany Roberts-Sahaydak said, "It was a tough weekend. We would have loved to have gotten the results against Texas and North Carolina, but what great two opponents to start your season off because they stretched us, they taught us a lot about ourselves, and at the end of the day we're gonna get better because of these two games. We definitely got better and right now, at this time of our season, I think that's what's most important and we're just gonna keep rolling and take it to Miami next weekend."
Junior Zandee Soree with UCF’s lone goal from opening weekend. The Knights’ road start continues with upcoming matches at the University of Miami and Maryland before welcoming the #22 Florida Gators in what’s become the new regular season home opener on Sunday, September 9th.
