The UCF women’s soccer team moved up another spot in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25, landing at No. 14 in Tuesday’s poll.
UCF (4-1) has topped two Pac 12 opponents and an ACC foe in the first five contests of the season, and opens American Athletic Conference action this weekend on a four-match win streak.
On Monday, the NCAA released its first RPI ratings of the season, with the Knights ranked fourth. The RPI standings rank more than 330 teams based upon their wins, losses and strength of schedule.
The Knights are no stranger to the United Soccer Coaches – previously known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) – rankings. From Dec. 2011 until Sept. 2015, the Knights had been ranked or receiving votes in every NSCAA poll. The Black and Gold returned to the poll on Aug. 28, jumping in at No. 24.
UCF begins league play on the road at Cincinnati on Thursday. Slated for a 7 p.m. start, the match will air on the American Digital Network.
