Orlando Pride vs Chicago Red Stars

  • 5/1 match ended in a 1-0 loss
  • Julie Johnston (CHI) did not start, due to groin injury
  • Lianne Sanderson (ORL) got her first start of the season
  • Ashlyn Harris (ORL) had 5 saves

Only goal of the game made by Red Star Danielle Colaprico, current NWSL Rookie of the Year, when she found Christen Press on a free kick

“She’s been dynamite for us. She’s been electrifying in the first two games and we thought, with the setup today, we had to change the system a little bit and that suited some other players to start the game. We always knew she was going to come in after about 60 minutes and whatever game she’s come into or started this year, she’s created problems for the opposition. She’s basically created mayhem at times with her pace and ability to come out with the ball whenever she’s in a tussle. She’s had a terrific start to the season.” ~ Coach Sermanni on Jasmyn Spencer

Orlando Pride falls from 5 to 7 after loss against Chicago Red Stars

“But, I thought, today our execution at critical times sort of let us down. Some of our decision making let us down and some of the quality of what we did let us down a little bit. But we had enough possession and we had enough chances to probably win a couple of games.” ~ Coach Sermanni on the loss
