Extending its unbeaten streak to six matches, the UCF women’s soccer team moved up a spot in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 to No. 13 in Tuesday’s poll.

UCF (5-1-1, 1-0-1) opened American Athletic Conference action last weekend with a 0-0 draw against a Cincinnati squad that is receiving votes in the poll. The Knights then topped ECU, 4-0, as Kayla Adamek and Dina Orschmann each netted a pair of goals. The duo earned recognition with the league’s weekly honors on Monday, while Adamek earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week.

The Knights have not lost a match since dropping their season opener at then-No. 4 South Carolina. UCF has topped two Pac 12 opponents and an ACC foe in the unbeaten streak.

On Monday, the NCAA released its updated RPI ratings, which ranked the Knights fourth. The RPI standings rank more than 330 teams based upon their wins, losses and strength of schedule.

The Knights are no stranger to the United Soccer Coaches – previously known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) – rankings. From Dec. 2011 until Sept. 2015, the Knights had been ranked or receiving votes in every NSCAA poll.

The Black and Gold returned to the poll on Aug. 28, jumping in at No. 24. UCF has continued to move up in each release of the weekly poll.

UCF continues league play on Thursday, hosting Tulsa at the UCF Soccer Complex. Slated for a 7 p.m. start, the first 75 students will receive a free soccer scarf. The Knights host Memphis in a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday.

No. 14 UCF Women's Soccer Earns A Pair of American Athletic Conference Honors

After helping No. 14 UCF to an unbeaten opening weekend of American Athletic Conference action, senior Kayla Adamek and freshman Dina Orschmann collected a pair of league honors on Monday. Adamek was named The American Offensive Player of the Week, while Orschmann earned Rookie of the Week laurels.

Adamek and Orschmann accounted for all four of the UCF (5-1-1, 1-0-1 The American) goals in a shutout victory at ECU on Sunday.

The pair became the second duo to tally a pair of goals each in American Athletic Conference play. The last time UCF accomplished the feat came in a 4-1 victory over UConn in 2013 when Alex Piercy and Lena Petermann each finished with two goals.

Adamek opened the scoring for the Knights, putting her second goal of the season in the back of the net in the 14th minute. Her third goal of the season came as she beat every ECU defender for the breakaway to make it 2-0 in UCF's favor. The Ottawa, Canada native's two goals in the match tied her career-best.

Orschmann tallied a pair of goals in UCF's 4-0 win over ECU. Her two markers were a career-best in a game. Also recording an assist on a goal by Kayla Adamek, Orschmann finished with five points in the win. The Berlin native leads the team in goals (4) and points (10).

The duo also combined for six of UCF's seven shots on goal in a 0-0 double overtime draw at Cincinnati on Sept. 21.

Monday's honor marks the second Rookie of the Week accolade for Orschmann this season, and the third overall for UCF. Adamek, who became the second Knight to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors this season, collected the accolade for the second time in her career.

UCF returns to action on Thursday, hosting Tulsa at 7 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex. The first 75 students will receive a free soccer scarf.

Tailgate Glamping - Be a “Queen for a Day”

tailgating.jpg

Ladies, when tailgating for the next women's soccer game, forget the burgers, brews and BBQ; It’s time to reinvent tailgating. Own your crown and be “queen for a day” with these tailgate glamping tips!

Customize Your Throne

Your perfect tailgate morning should center around relaxation. In order to be the comfiest queen, you have to choose the perfect “throne.” Are you looking to store all your game day essentials in the side? Or maybe snuggle up with your girls on a love seat camping chair? Take a look at this awesome list and pick the perfect tailgating chair for you.

How can your chair stand out from the boys’? Order a custom chair cover, complete with ruffled trim, a bow, and way more comfort than a plain camping chair can provide!

Bring the Bubbly

The most important part of any tailgate is the beverages, and tailgate glamping is no exception! Trade the brews for a bubbly mimosa bar or whip up a festive, purple punch to share with the girls!

We recommend a foldable table and resealable juice bottles for easy clean-up when it’s time to head to the stadium.

Prepare the Royal Feast

Mirror, mirror, on the wall. Who has the cutest snacks of them all? Your tailgating snacks can be the cutest without slaving over them the day before. A healthy, but adorable option are these soccer fruit kabobs. Looking for something a little sweeter? Try these super easy soccer ball Rice Krispie Treats! Other great ideas include hors d’oeuvre sandwiches, hummus and veggies, or grilled chicken kabobs. Tailgating snacks never tasted so good.

Color Coordinate (...everything)

A true tailgating queen always has the perfect decor. Craft a cute banner that can be admired from far, far away. Pick up purple cups, plates, silverware, pom poms and anything else you’ll need to prep for the big game. Maybe even paint your own cornhole set for the Orlando Pride! That’s definitely gram-worthy.

With these tips for planning the perfect glamping tailgate, nothing can go wrong! Sit back, relax and get ready to cheer on your favorite women’s soccer team (woo!).
